Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival 🎊 This festival is celebrated every year in the beginning of July - seven neighborhoods of Fukuoka compete and carry these huge floats on a 5km course through the city. They are as tall as 5 meters and weight around 1000kg! There are a couple of test runs between the 1-14 ofJuly but the biggest main race is in the morning of the 15th of July: As early as 4:59am the race starts. And it is a big event, a loooot of people where there, it was insane! A really great spirit and it was so impressive to see how much these guys can carry. 💪 even the children where all dressed up and running, too!
